Interview Skills : Things That Person Must Keep In Mind While Going For Interview

You are in a job interview. You are at a professional association meeting. You're in a meeting with your bosses. You are being watched.

In any of these situations whether you're trying to get, keep or advance in a job, you're being evaluated in ways far beyond our actual job performance. Your posture, gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, dressing sense all create impressions that may help you or hurt you.

You can make the most of that opportunity by being prepared, presenting a professional demeanor and describing your qualifications well.

GROOMING TIPS FOR EVERYONE

  • Hair: Should be neat and clean
  • Shoes: Should be in polished condition. Make sure heels are not worn (Girls)
  • Details: No missing buttons, don't forget to remove external tags from new clothes.
  • Hands: Clean Fingernails.
  • Smell: Perfumes or Cologne should be used sparingly or not at all. No odors in clothes
  • Pad Folios: A small Briefcase is appropriate. But if you have no reason to carry a briefcase, don't you risk looking silly.

Interview Attire Guidelines

  • Suit: A two-piece matched suit is always the best and safest choice
  • But what if a job is in a non-suit wearing work environment: Wearing a suit shows you take the interview seriously. Look for advice through professional organizations.
  • Conservative Colours: Navy, Dark Grey, Black are safe. Other color trends may come and go; avoid the extremes. Wool, wool blends or good quality microfiber for women only are generally the best fabrics in all seasons.
  • Body Lingo counts: Body Language is very important while giving an interview. So to give the right signal to the interviewer, here are some real-life reminders.
  1. Don't Slump: Good Posture coveys confidence and health.
  2. Make Eye Contact: It's a part of a good relationship building.
  3. Shake Hands Firmly
  • Crossing your arms, positioning your body sideways to the speaker can convey disagreement or lack of interest.
  • Walk tall, erect and briskly.

Your actions speak volumes as to what is going in your mind. That's what you want to project-even when your insides are rolling with nerves
